So it seems that even though I usually don't like travelling, it brought inspiration to me.
Tracks like earths braces
Faces emotionless, stare blankly ahead,
to the journey ahead
Trains, and planes like snakes eating up people
and spitting them out again,
on a different platform.
Please mind the gap,
and apparently please don’t talk,
seem to be the two main rules, and we fools follow
as we nod at fellow travelers.
Unravel booking papers, tickets, letters
Books of superstars that we can feast are eyes on,
the fact that looking out the window
it too painful and banal for us people better than those who stay put
Then the silence is broken
by one starting a conversation with someone else hoping
to get some communication and yes.
A revelation.
The conversation begins.
And fake smiles may be shared, and a rare laugh maybe heard
but at least they make an effort.
Good thing we are not on the underground.
Bound to silence once again,
and round and round,
and not a word is said.
Words should be bred when around strangers
Its not dangerous, so they should be shared
Because it is rare.
We go around, bound to talk only to our peers and friends
Being told that we can’t talk to strangers.
But if we followed this rule then we naive fools,
would never know the world,
and see society unfurl,
but be kept in a bubble, face kept facing rubble,
Not asking for trouble or even social conversations.
