I'm doing it for me.
Not so you can sneer at me
Or make me feel crushable,
So I can stop dreaming of acceptence that one day I may see.
I'm doing it for me.
For the safety of knowing who I am, and being proud of who I am.
So I don't have to be ashamed and hide away.
I'm doing it for me,
and helping every he and she.
So they can see me, and feel braver, less like a stranger in society
but more like a component in reality.
I'm doing it for me.
So don't pressure me,
To jumping out of this wooden box you built and threw me in.
Because with this step I'll grow,
and show the world that I am like everybody else
Happy to be here and not cast onto a shelf of useless toys.
I'm doing it for me,
And this is only a very small chapter of my story.
